Ben Schultz has taught 5 years as a full-time high school digital photography and film production teacher in the Danbury Public School District in Danbury, CT. He has completed the Manhattanville College M.A.T. in Visual Arts Education (K – 12) and holds NYSED Initial Certification as of May 2020. Ben also holds Connecticut Provisional Certification and tenure as of 2024. Extracurricular experience includes Yearbook Advisory.
Professional Development includes current enrollment in the EdS K – 12 Ed. Leadership program at Northwest Missouri State University (online) and weekly PLC for the Academy of Communication and Design in DPS.


After three semesters working full time for the Bedford Central School District as part of Manhattanville College’s Professional Development School Teacher Internship program, Ben student-taught at Fox Lane Middle School. Ben previously earned the University of Connecticut B.F.A. in Digital Media and Design with an additional Concentration in Creative Writing.
Other work experience includes photographing events at area schools for Legacy Yearbooks; freelance video, motion and layout production; and SMART Camp for K – 6 Art and STEAM. Overall Ben is inspired as a visual artist by the narrative and character-development components of storytelling and enjoys facilitating a choice-based creative process for students.
